Secondframe Inc. provides The Sky Then mobile apps and theskythen.com for personal journaling, keepsakes, and reflection. These terms explain your use of the service. Please read them and the Privacy Policy before using it. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Contact hello@secondframe.co with questions. The current MVP is free, with no subscription, purchases, or paid entitlement. Any future paid offering will have separate pricing and terms presented before purchase.

You must be at least 13, or the higher minimum age required where you live. If you have not reached the age of majority, a parent or guardian must review these terms and give permission where required by law. The app is not directed to children under 13. Use it lawfully, respect other people’s privacy, and enter or share another person’s details only when you have the right to do so.

Subject to these terms and the applicable store license, you may use the app for your personal, lawful purposes. Do not interfere with its operation, exploit vulnerabilities, distribute malicious material, or infringe others’ rights. Restrictions do not limit rights granted by applicable law or open-source licenses. The service, branding, software, and supplied artwork belong to Secondframe Inc. or their respective licensors. Third-party and open-source material remains subject to its own notices and licenses.

Sky positions are estimates based on entered details and the calculation models available. Missing or incorrect details, historical time-zone records, and model differences affect results. Artwork illustrates size, spacing, and lighting; chart guides and decorative stars are not a telescope image. Rahu and Ketu represent calculated lunar nodes, not physical planets. Shared placements can occur by coincidence. Traditional symbolism is optional material for reflection, not a scientific explanation of personality or events. The app provides no predictions or professional advice. Do not rely on it for navigation, observation planning, or health, legal, financial, or safety decisions.

You keep your rights to the content you enter. We do not claim ownership of your journal or receive it merely because you use the app. You allow the software to process it locally to provide the functions you request. You may keep and share prints generated through the app, subject to privacy rights and third-party licenses. This does not transfer ownership of the app’s underlying artwork, branding, or software or grant a license to resell those assets separately. You are responsible for having permission to record and share other people’s information and for choosing who receives exported files.

No cloud account or automatic journal sync is provided. The local profile does not lock your journal. Removing the app, clearing browser storage, changing website origin or browser, device failure, or data corruption can make records unavailable. Keep a separate backup of anything you want to preserve and check that it can be restored. Exported backups contain personal information and are not encrypted by the app. We cannot recover a journal stored only on your device. These statements do not remove any rights or remedies that applicable law guarantees.

App stores, operating systems, website hosting, links, and the destinations you choose for files are operated by other providers. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. We do not control their availability or handling of files you send them. Apple’s standard end-user license agreement governs the iOS app license; these terms supplement it for the service and do not replace its mandatory provisions. The applicable Google Play terms also apply to downloads through Google Play.

We may improve, change, or discontinue features, subject to applicable law and any commitments made to you. You can stop using the app at any time; export your journal before clearing it or uninstalling. Updated terms will carry a new date. We will give notice of material changes and seek agreement where required. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights. If you do not accept updated terms, you may stop using the service and retain your exported records.

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available and as is, without additional promises of uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, security, fitness for a particular purpose, or recovery of lost data. To the extent permitted by law, Secondframe Inc. is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing removes mandatory consumer guarantees, remedies, or privacy rights.

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, except where mandatory laws in your place of residence provide otherwise. You retain any right to bring a claim in your local courts or use a regulator or dispute process available under mandatory law. These terms do not require arbitration or waive class-action rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply to the extent permitted by law.
